How to get your document Notarized
- Signer(s) must have a VALID Government Issued PHOTO ID. This means an unexpired ID with a PHOTO issued by a GOVERNMENT AGENCY. Driver’s license, Passport, Military ID, etc. The notary MUST examine and hold the ACTUAL ID. Not a picture or copy. The entire purpose of notarization is to prevent fraud. If the signer does not have a valid ID, click here.
- Signer(s) cannot be under the influence of any mind altering substances including drugs (prescription or otherwise) & alcohol.
We CAN NOT notarize for individuals who are mentally incapacitated, diagnosed with dementia, substantial strokes, or other conditions which affect their ability to understand what they are signing. Consult an attorney in those cases. - Have the documents completely filled out EXCEPT for the signatures that need to be notarized.
It is NOT necessary for the notary public to “watch” you fill out forms. If the notary has to wait for forms to be completed, you may be charged a waiting fee of $15 per 15 minutes past your appointment time. - If you need witnesses you will have to provide witnesses. Please note that none of the area hospitals or nursing homes allow their employees to act as witnesses. Witnesses may not be related to the signer(s) or benefit from having the documents signed.
- Call 423-708-5662 to schedule an appointment. We can typically provide same day service as our schedule allows. We take our last scheduled appointment at 4:30pm eastern time.
- The notary is not an attorney and can not instruct you or answer any questions about your document. We are not trained in the practice of law. A notary public simply identifies a signer of a document.
- You are not hiring the notary for the entire day. Most notary appointments should not take more than 5-10 minutes after the notary arrives. If documents are not ready to sign, witnesses aren’t present, etc. you may be charged a waiting fee or need to reschedule. Travel fee will be due regardless if notarization is performed.
- IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS- Please don’t hesitate to call. We would rather take care of any issues before the notary travels to your location.
